Bob Zylstra describes about the honor of being on the National Register of Historic Places along with the need for a local ordinance that the neighbors will have to petition for in order to protect the neighborhood homes from destruction along with maintaining the character of the neighborhood.
We had a successful celebration to dedicate the Collegiate Historic Neighborhood with a ribbon cutting ceremony, two home tours, walking tour, food and music and a chance to visit with several preservationist. Here is a radio clip during the ceremony;
